The name I use here, hornetcharmer, is not a moniker I use anywhere else. The story behind it is that a few years back, a group of friends and I were playing around with MGS3 characters, and my character was The Pain, primarily because I am an avid bee lover and he's a big scary guy with bees and hornets.

So a few weeks ago now I got a nest of wasps living in my wall and I have ben trying to keep them at bay "humanely"... Now anyone will tell you, after they're done laughing at you, that there is no humane way to get rid of wasps.

Because I didn't want any of my pets (or myself and roommate) getting stung I put about a raid wasp trap. Well, that thing was a tot piece of crap- I checked it after a week and it had only caught about 3 wasps. Then when I picked it up to toss it out, I could see wasps flying in and out freely. Only I would get super intelligent wasps in my house.

My dad told me I could wait until they left and then just seal up the hole so they didn't return. This seemed like a great idea, until the number of wasps INSIDE my house began to increase exponentially. This morning there were at least 30 wasps buzzing around inside by my back doors, and I have NO idea how they are getting inside. So I decided it was time for decisive action.

I went out to buy some insecticide wasp spray, but of course everyone was sold out. I ended up with some glue traps for the windows, which have caught a few wasps up to this point. But I was sitting downstairs watching them to see if I could find out how they were getting in. Eventually I gave up and came back upstairs. When I sat down at my computer, my screensaver was cycling through my image galleries.

And it just so happened to be on a series of images of The Pain, one of which was an animated GIF I made for an LJ Icon that said "Don't worry, Bee happy".
